An old fishing village, Takaungu lies on a narrow estuary located just 10km south of Kilifi.
The quaint village is situated above Takaungu Creek, a stunning tidal creek which reaches inland into dense mangrove forests.
Off the beaten track, Takaungu has a small, beautiful, yet quiet beach, visited only by the villagers and the occupants of the few villas overlooking the beach.
Whilst basic foodstuff are available in the village, for other shopping it is necessary to go to Kilifi or Mombasa
